After earning his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Behrman went on to specialize in orthopedic surgery. He held the position of Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Francis Medical Center in Santa Barbara, California from 1996 to 1999. In 2002, he became Vice-Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, a position he holds to the present. Dr. Behrman was instrumental in the establishment of the Animal Rescue Team. A longtime supporter of Ms. DiSieno’s efforts at saving animals, he assisted Ms. DiSieno in creating the Animal Rescue Team, Inc. as a fullscale non-profit rescue, rehab and protection service for animals. Dr. Behrman not only leads as President, but also donates his medical services when the veterinarians who work with A.R.T. cannot get to an animal in need.
